Dear Ladys or Gentleman,
It took me a while to find out how I can convince you that me and my work is a good choice for representing your brand as an Samyang passionate artist. After some time I came to the conclusion, that I just want to tell you a part of my photography story.
At first, I would like to introduce my self: I am Max - a 30 years old German guy who got totally drawn in into the world of photography. The serious side of myself is working as an engineer for medical imaging applications, the passionated side of myself is carrying a camera everyday. I mostly do travel-/streetphotography and portraits.
In late 2016 I sold my old Pentax K-5 and stepped into the world of Fullframe with the Sony A7II. The first lens I got for this camera was the Samyang 85mm 1.4 manual focus lens. I mainly got it for shooting portraits. At first I was a bit skeptical about using an all manual lens, because of the much slower workflow. It turned out that slowing down the process was great for concentrating more on details. I learned so much about light in this period. To be honest: I later replaced the lens for having AF with the Sony 85mm 1.8 - which clearly has some advantages in sharpness and usability. But it never gave me that creamy bokeh of the Sammy.

In 2017 I got myself a Sigma 35mm 1.4 with Canon Mount and autofocus adapter. I really loved the focal length. 35mm is still today my all-round focal length for everything I do. For me it has something special. It just feels natural to my Eyes and gives this feeling of presence in portraiture and documentary photography. But there were some drawbacks: My setup using the adapted sigma lens was huge and heavy and I didn't liked the sterile rendering of the sigma.

In mid 2017 the Samyang 35mm 2.8 FE was announced. I immediately got it, as it was available in Germany. I totally fell in love with this tiny little guy. The image quality is amazing and renders a beautiful vivid picture. It is still today paired with my a7III my single lens traveling setup.

The above Image is one I'm specially proud of. It was shot during the contemporary art festival "Documenta" in Kassel, Germany. It shows two visitors of the festival sitting In front of a multimedial exhibition piece. With this Image I won the Samyang photoconcest decemberfest 01 in late 2017. I could choose a Lens as my price. Thank you so much for this! Obviously I went for the 35mm 1.4 FE which is still today my favorite portrait lens. I immediately sold the the adapted Sigma 35 and deep fell in love with the Sammy 35 1.4. It had so much more character, was more reliable due to the native mount and was even lighter. It became my by far most used lens.
As you can see, Samyang lenses are a big part part of my passion. They are the tools I prefer! I would love try out some more Samyang lenses. Especially the 45mm 1.8 sounds pretty interesting to me.
